1. What do you think of our blog?

What do you particularly like about it? What's especially impressive?

What could be improved? What's missing or could be added?

2. Based on what you've read on the blog (and maybe seen in test screenings in class) what suggestions do you have regarding what we could do to make our Practical Production really successful?

What other things could we include in the production?

How should we go about filming any remaining scenes or editing the footage during post-production (+ suggestions for music, etc.)?

Well, starting off with what i like about your blog...I like the way you have included images and all thelonks to your documentaries you have reasearched. I like the way you have explained everything so well on the blog, i mean know one would ever know half the stuff on here if you hadn't explained it the way you have.
i think you should maybe consider using scenes of what the outcome could have been if you didnt get the treatemnt you did!! think about using paralel music with the scene when you want to show your opening scene image after the disney land thing so it causes more suspense, arises tention amongst the audience and comes across as hard hitting...
its good to know that your doing a documnetary on your personal experiance because it makes people think twice about things like this even though this is something which cant be avoided if it does come across to anyone...Like you mentioned on the blog, people think Pneumonia is just something caught by the cold, but you've described it well. I think your documentary will really inform people about this more and will show them a detailed insight to YOUR story and how YOU coped...

Your blog is looking really good so far, the colour that you have chosen for your background fits well, as it makes your fonts stick out.

there is plenty of research here which is excellent as it explains to people out there what your production is all about.

What you can add in your blog are maybe footages when you were in hospital! that will make your blog look really attractive.

I wish you all the best, keep up the hardwork.

1. Your blog contains some very detailed informative research which is really good, also you have posted up various pics and video links which are both very interesting, I also like the layout of your blog.

To improve, you could maybe post up some detailed plans which explain your targets for the following week

For your post production, you should use a parallel soundtrack that proves really sad, to therefore compliment your serious narrative, which will get the audience thinking.

1. Once again your blog is looking good i like the fact that you have included so much research and it will be a great final product

2. The footage we saw in class looked good and realistic which fits the typical conventions of documentries. One thing which you might want to improve on is not moving the camera too much when you are doing interviews

Other than that its looking good so far and good luck with the rest

1. Your blogs really detailed and provides alot of info into what happened which is good so everyone has a better understanding of it all.

2. You got some good footage too with the interviews and your cards clip which was creative. Some of the clips just need to be a bit steadier.

Good Luck..

Lots of good research posted up on the blog. What’s most impressive is the personal response/ opinion that you’ve added to everything. It shows that you’re not just mindlessly copying and pasting stuff but actually digesting the info. Also, great choice of documentary. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

You could add some evaluation to your progress reports so that they are more beneficial to your future shooting/editing. Also, try to include a detailed structure of your doc so that you’re slightly more focused and everyone else can see how your doc is coming along.

During post production you could include some ambulance siren noises to create panic and alarm. Also if relevant during a scene (maybe a reconstruction) have some overlapping, slightly echoed voices of doctors/nurses/relatives… don’t really know how to describe it… but make it sound like what someone who is coming around from an unconscious state would hear ( like what they do in holby city or casualty). This would help to make your doc seem even more emotional and enable the audience to identify with your doc as they would be visualising themselves in the same situation.

Good luck with everything and well done…

really good blog with really good analysis and good detailed progress reports, the pictures u added look good, but i think u should add more pictures and more videos which will look interesting.
i really like the topic which is different from any other productions done, i think it's really important and it is trying to educate the audience about this kind of illnesses and how dangerous it can be.
u should use documentary conventions to make it look realistic, and some slow songs that will match with this documentary, maybe when doin the vox pops ask them if they had those illness before.
good luck for the editing

This is a really good idea, and the pictures that you've added really create an emotional and personal responce from the audience.

During certain scenes, you should definately use really emotional music eg Lifehouse - Everything ( but i dont think that song will fit)

Flashbacks would also be really good, as it would also help the audience understand the narrative.

I think you blog is really good as you’ve not only just done your research but you’ve actually explained things in simple terms for everyone to understand and follow- so well done. Also, your blog shows us clear plans of what you’ve done and are going to do which is good as it shows your focused and that you know what your doing.
I think you should post up some footage or pictures.
Although I haven’t seen what you’ve done, your intro idea seems really interesting and will grab the audiences attention, so everything sounds good so far.

I love the idea behind your documentary - the blog's looking good as well but the only constructive critism i would give is that maybe you should make it a little bit more detailed. For example, you've analysed documentaries but why not also state HOW they relate to your type of doc and WHAT is it from each documentary that you've learnt or that you can incoprate into your own one?

Karandeep said...

1. The blog looks good and its quite detailed. You've analsyed a range of texts and added quite a lot of research. But to improve you might want to add certain clips of what you've filmed so far or more images.

2. Try and always use a tripod when your filming and avoid zooming in and out.

i think that your blog is very impressive and the images and videos included make it look even better. the theme of the blog is relevant to the topic and at lot of research has been conducted and it looks like you lot know what you are doing. the topic itslef is unique and i dont think anybody else has done anything like it.

to improve your blog i think you should add some of your own footage to the blog in order to let us see clearly what you are doing and how u are going about doing it.

make sure you add a good voice over and decent sound to add to the theme and seriousness of the issue.

The images used in your blog are very attention grabbing and do relate well to what your productiion is all about. The research has been done well and I think that you have really set your mind on it as you seem to know alot about it. But I think that you could make your production really interesting by adding the right music to your documentary. So maybe something like contrapuntal music to make certain scenes appear more gripping.

1) Your blog is looking great, the photo and clip show exactly what is going to be in your production and the research shows detail of knowledge

2)Your footage also seems interesting, perhaps if the camera was not to move the audience could concentrate on the interview and not the where the camera is moving

Your blog looks very good, and the pic at the top is eye catching which makes it even more interesting, we saw the test screening in class of the interview at the hospital, the interview was really good but u should consider keeping the camera in one place so its more engaging but other than that its all good.

1. Good strong research, very detailed. Also another powerful and serious topics which is different from others.

2. Post up your footage could be a way of improving your blog.

3. A mix of parallel music and contrapuntal music will be important.

4. A voiceover should be used.

Good Luck!

1. I really feel that you are addressing such a serous issue well, and from what is on your blog I can see you put a lot of effort into it and you have a lot of strong research to back up your work.
2. May be posting footage that you have shot could give people an insight on what you have done.
3. May be considering using contrapuntal music to make what is on the screen to be more effective.

The blog uses many detailed explanations, which is a really good idea. You know your stuff! Pictures make it very moving.

For your documentary, you could use a montage of photos, articles with dramatic music. Hope that helps! :)
